One of the things that I love about living in Cebu is that you don’t have to go that far if you want to chill on the beach. A 30-minute ride from Cebu City, and you’ll eventually find yourself a pristine beach resort. That is exactly what I had in mind when I went on an afternoon cruise with Crispina Aquatics last week.
A few months ago, I won a gift certificate from a contest during the 36th anniversary of Costabella Tropical Beach Resort. The gift certificate entitles me an afternoon cruise with Crispina Aquatics for 6 persons. I also get to use the swimming facilities in Costabella.
So last week, I brought my best friends with me so we can finally take advantage of the gift certificate. It was an opportune time to get together and have a mini celebration. After all, it’s already Christmas season!
To be honest, I had no idea what to expect. I booked our cruise months ahead, but I didn’t get to ask what the ‘Afternoon Cruise’ would include. Upon arriving Costabella, we met up with Juvan, one of the marketing officers whom I’ve already met a few months back. He led us to the receiving area while they prepare our snacks and boat. We also had the best welcome drinks.
Thank you, Juvan!
We wandered around the resort for awhile to take some pictures. Costabella just happens to have great Instagrammable spots!
Off to Crispina Aquatics!
After a few minutes of wandering around, Juvan told us that our boat is ready and our snacks are already waiting at the Crispina Aquatics office. He led us to the beachfront so we can finally have the whole afternoon to ourselves.
Prior to this, I’ve never tried cruising around the shores of Mactan Island. I’ve been living in Cebu for most of my life, but I just didn’t have the chance to visit this part of the island. Most probably because I am always in the mountains. So this afternoon cruise was a great time for me to explore the shores of Mactan.
It was fun looking at the tall buildings of Cebu from afar. The sight of guests having fun on their banana boat rides also looked pretty exciting. There were also others parasailing not far from us.
We simply cruised around the shores of Mactan and Olango Island and made a stop somewhere in the middle to swim in the turquoise waters. The deep blue sea looked really scary, but at the same time, it also looked inviting. I simply couldn’t resist dipping into the clear waters of Mactan.
I was particularly fascinated by how engaging our boatmen were. Not only were they cool with how loud we were, they also made the whole experience more fun. In fact, all the staff in Costabella were really helpful to us.
It was an afternoon of laughter and giggles with my friends. I got to spend some time with them before I traveled to Negros for a week-long vacation.
